Yo O-hio!

The last six months of my life have included a barrage of zig-zag emotions as I've jumped back and forth between potential graduate school options. After months, I finally decided that BYU was the best financial choice for me. However, literally last minute I received an offer to research at Ohio State University. Suddenly this grad school decision was flung back into my life and the process began again. I've never had a more difficult decision but in the end, Ohio weighed out as the decision that would open more doors for my future. My generous aunt and uncle invited me to room at their house while I'm in school.

In complete Amy style, one week before school I added classes, five hours before my flight I started packing, and one day before class I flew to Ohio. I cried a bit on the plane as I watched my ant-sized home fade behind the Wasatch Front, but quickly the excitement of adjusting to a new place has riveted my attention. I flew in to Columbus last night at 11:15pm, pulled up my suitcases into my new loft bedroom, slept a few hours, and then rode to Ohio State for program orientation. I felt dazzled by both the large and stylish campus and the generous and friendly people. Class starts tomorrow. Wish me luck!
